FAQ

What Can't I adjust the aperture?

The aperture on all smart phones and tablets are fixed due to technological constraints of making a working aperture of such a small size. Based on your device, M Camera displays the correct aperture of your lens to help you get the right exposure.

Why is the ISO limited to "X" values?

We are limited to the ISO range of the camera in your device. M Camera determines what the min and max ISO values are for your particular device and gives you that range.

Can I adjust the settings while recording?

Yes! go wild.

Why do the shutter speed and ISO controls have to be on either manual or automatic mode at the same time?

Good Question! I’m not really sure but Apple won’t let me keep only one of them on auto or manual. They work as a team. There’s no I in team. If this changes at anytime, I will make an update to the app.

Why do the color temperature and tint controls have to be on either manual or automatic mode at the same time?

There's no button to flip the camera to front-view. How can I take a selfie?

Don't worry! Just double-tap the screen to switch to the front facing camera. Double-tap the screen again to flip back to the main camera. Easy.

How can I get the controls back to auto-mode?

Just press and hold anywhere on the screen for 1 second and the controls will flip back to auto mode. You can toggle the controls back and forth from auto to manual and back again using this trick. Remember: green is auto, white is manual.

Hello!

There are a lot of great camera apps out there but none of them give me what I need: A camera app that has basic exposure control but isn't cumbersome to use. The app should have intuitive control over exposure and white balance without filters, frames & other “features”; so I can focus on making a great image. I created DP Cam to fill this need and I love it. I hope you do to.  Since DP Cam relies on certain features only available with iOS 8, I didn’t have a lot of beta testers. While I use the app daily, there might be a few surprises others will find. If you discover anything weird or if you think the app would be better in some way, please drop me a line. I want to make this the best camera app for both you and me.   Thanks! Axel
